Well, Lane Bryant is a bit torqued that their new lingerie ad has come under fire. I have to agree, click here to see for yourself.
The ad is really no different than any risque Victoria Secret ad we’ve been “subjected” to on TV, the only difference is the model is a little more curvy. She is beautiful and I think the ad shows “plus sized” women in a new light. The ad says that plus sized women are sexy, beautiful and desirable, however, 2 networks felt differently and didn’t want to air the ad.
What do you think? Do you think this ad is offensive? Did size play a role here?

Wow! What a big difference!! CNN.com reporting about Jessica Simpson’s latest photo shoot for Marie Claire magazine. No make-up, nothing, completely natural. A beautiful woman with a great attitude about her body and her personal beauty, if only we could all fee that way about ourselves.
Way to go, Jessica!

A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook. This is absolutely amazing . . . it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that animals share the same emotions as humans.
Hero Dog . . . Amazing!!!

Eight years ago our country suffered a terrible tragedy . . . one that still sends chills up my spine, especially when I see footage of the World Trade Center. I remember that time in our country because despite our differences, we united together and helped one another cope with the event. The American Spirit was strong and we grew as a nation.
Today, let us unite again and remember those who were lost, remember those who lost loved ones and be thankful for all that you have in your life.
United We Stand.

This time of year is the most horrible time of the year. Why? Two words . . . school shopping! Now, I don’t mind getting the pencils, pens, binders, etc. . . . that is, until I see the total on the register. The part of school shopping that is the worst for me, is buying clothes. I have 2 daughters, 10 and 12 years old, and both couldn’t be more different from one another. So shopping with them is always an experience. That’s a whole other blog post!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my girls, but just not in a mall. It’s not the “Why can’t I have this?” and “What do you mean it’s too tight?” that bothers me the most. It’s the amount of time spent in the fitting room. This is why I believe that in the fitting room something happens with time and space that completely defies what we have been taught in school. Time just seems to vanish in the fitting room! Allow me to explain. For me, the fitting room is a quick and sometimes painful event . . . I try, I look, I laugh or cry and I’m out! That was not the case yesterday. We got to the mall at 3:30. Things were going well. Each of them found things they liked and no one was angry, crying or fighting at this point, so I thought things were going great! Ha! We looked around and got sizes and different styles and arrived in the fitting room just before 4. Clothing was on and off and on and off . . . again, again and again! We all left the room satisfied and then I looked at my phone for the time! WOW!! Where did the time go???? It was 5:15!!! I could not believe we spent all that time in a tiny room trying on clothes!! So a warning . . . beware of the fitting room . . . I know that’s an hour of my life I want back!

The claws are coming out and kittens are going to war in the name of cuteness.
KittenWar.com pits kittens against each other to see which one is more adorable based on user votes.
Owners upload a picture of their kitty to battle against other cute cats, but they’re not
always pleased with the results.
Creator Fraser Lewry says, “I imagine it’s like having a child and thinking they’re the cutest kid in the world. When you’re told they’re not, it’s a bit shocking.”
Pet owners get so upset when their kitty loses a war that they’ll ask that the picture be taken down or beg to submit a more adorable photo so they can send them back into battle.
Lewry doesn’t mind so long as owners don’t try to edge out the competition by sending in pictures of their kittens in costumes, which he inds “unnecessary and cruel.”
My cats cuter than your cat! let’s get it on!

Wednesday was the finally of the Arts In The Parks program/ series in my home town. Every Wednesday my son and I were in the audience for the wacky, weird and wonderful! Everything from Puppet Shows to stunt shows to Concerts… all very entertaining. This past Wednesday for the finally they brought out the wild animals! We got to meet and touch lizards, snakes, turtles, you name it! We learned lot’s of cool stuff about animals we’ve never even seen before that day. The show stopper was the monkey! They introduced him by walking him around the crowd as they warned us to refrain from petting or approaching the animal. Then it happened, the un-thinkable…the monkey broke free and ran away! It climbed a fence, and ended up just out of arms reach of it’s handler and was on the lamb! For a whole ten minutes and then they captured the little fella and all was back to normal. Can you imagine the headlines the following day? Big thanks to the folks who put this series on, nice job, what a memorable way to end the series!

My son Boy Troy is now playing soccer. He’s having fun running back and forth chasing and kicking the ball and playing on the big field with all of his new 4, 5 and 6 year old friends! It’s fun to watch him get excited when he scores a goal (which isn’t too often). He just loves being there. It’s also fun to watch the parents of the other 4, 5 and 6 year old’s. By the sounds coming from the side lines you would think they were at the Superbowl cheering on their favorite pro team. Nope their yelling instructions at their child who’s on the big field just trying to have fun runninig back and forth chasing and kicking the ball. I’m not saying parents (participating) screaming at their kids from the sidelines is a bad thing. In this case it’s very entertaining, more fun to watch than the game!
Run Troy, RUN!
